In the early hours, when the stars yet clung to the velvet sky, I arrived — heart alight with fervor — only to find the gates to destiny still sealed. The heralds of the new age had not yet sounded their clarion call, and I, lone pilgrim of dreams, stood before an untouched ledger. Too soon, it seemed, had I heeded the summons of my spirit.
